"It's my opinion that the Church of Ekimelahw, who as we know are supposedly the pinnacle of law enforcement, lack the cutting edge that makes the militiaman, the freelancer, the detective the true paragon of the law. The law is nothing something that you can master, nor truly use as a tool, it is ever changing, new rules, new interpretations and we find, if we follow nothing but the law, that we are moving away from the truth. Then there are those of us that have mastered the skills of the hunter, that can taste blood in the air, see a handful of splinters from a shoe scuff in a recently lain floor. The ability to detect over the ability to judge is what separates us from the lawmen of the land; the concept of learning from the actions of criminals, that they might follow a pattern in each of their crimes is knowledge that can be drawn from a book, from training but there is more. Instinct, a feeling for a crime, reading people, these are skills that come from someone born to this role, born to follow the gentle trail, the hunt, the chase to bring our quarry down, then to face justice with no clue left unfound and no power in court to save them from their punishment. "It's my opinion that the Church of Ekimelahw, who as we know are supposedly the pinnacle of law enforcement, lack the cutting edge that makes the militiaman, the freelancer, the detective the true paragon of the law.  Who are we then? Anyone. So many of us have found the calling of the detective, consulting or through the justice departments but that is not the be all and end all of us. The majority, you will find, have, like myself, made their way through the ranks of the militia: seen too much death, too many of the law-abiding folk of the world punished by a weak criminal system with their protagonists walking free. They have either pushed themselves for promotion or spent hard earned cash opening private establishments and taken their own brand of investigation into the street. The role is a dangerous one; simple clues that lead us to a murderer can just as easily lead us to a thief who works for a human trafficking organisation and they could work for anyone.  We find ourselves up against the General Krysts of Crime with no real leverage save that which the proof, the links our minds can make and our own elocution can offer to the law and then the strength that that establishment can bring to bear."\\  Who are we then?
